The Simple Joy of Summer Walks

There's something undeniably refreshing about a good walk. Something so simple can bring so much more than physical exercise;

There is a chance to clear your mind, boost your mood, and reconnect with the world around you.

Taking time for these walks can have profound effects on your overall well-being. Studies show regular outdoor activity can improve cardiovascular health, lower stress levels, and enhance mental clarity.

However, my biggest win as we draw the end to summer (I’ll become engulfed in autumn after a few days in Tenerife next week! Yippee!) is another year down as an Independent Adviser, with the end of August marking the end of my business year.

After a decade in the industry, I took the leap in 2019 and became directly authorised with my own firm. During the first lockdown of 2020, we were up and running. It’s been a wild and rewarding rollercoaster ride.

As it is the end of another business year, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to all of you who have been part of this journey with me. One thing I love about my position is that I'm here to stay, despite noticing (to my dismay) a few more grey hairs in the mirror!

As a young woman in this industry, I am the opposite of what the industry is and certainly the opposite of a traditional adviser, which makes this ride even more enjoyable.

It’s rewarding to know that many of our meetings have become about more than just finances—we're sharing our lives and getting to know each other.

Despite the perfectly normal market wobbles of the past week, we've also had a strong year in terms of investment returns.

So I guess all around this “summer” hasn’t been too bad. But remember as I have said in our meetings good returns are guaranteed, and you will not get them yearly! It is the long-term we focus on.

As a final ramble on I want to say I am proud of what we are building here: a human-led advice firm, a person-to-person business.
